Hagar. Tamar. Gomer. Rahab. Bathsheba. The Samaritan Woman. The Woman Caught in Adultery. The Bride of Christ.
Their stories are often reduced to a single moment, a painful decision, or a label they were never meant to carry.
But when we slow down, study the context, and look more closely, we find something deeper.
We find women navigating rejection, survival, longing, shame, courage, and redemption.
Most importantly, we discover the God who saw them, met them, defended them, restored them, and continued writing their stories.
And somewhere along the way, we begin to recognize ourselves.

1.
Understand the context that makes their stories more human, more complex, and more remarkable.
2.
Follow His character through stories of hardship, faith, justice, mercy, and redemption.
3.
Reflect on the things you’ve carried and what these passages invite you to bring before God.

We remember the headline. The label. The moment everyone talks about.
But what was happening around that moment? What did these women face? And what did God do next?
A Tender Hand invites you to slow down and look again. Because Hagar, Tamar, Gomer, Rahab, Bathsheba, the Samaritan woman, and the woman caught in adultery were never meant to be reduced to one line of their stories.
The closer you look, the more there is to discover.

I received a free reader copy from the author, and these are my honest thoughts. The women in the Bible often get left out, overlooked, and misunderstood by so many. This book gives each of the 8 women explored a much deserved spotlight and perspective into her role in the overarching biblical story. I was especially impressed with the depth of research that went into each story and creativity used to bring them to life. 3 of these great women are named/referenced in Matthew's chronicling genealogy that opens his book and points to the divinity of Jesus as the Messiah. I can honestly say I learned more about each of them and had a deeper respect for their place in that line up after reading this book.
The final chapter on the Bride of Christ is remarkable and stook with me long after putting the book down. Kearsy's vulnerability and honesty are a breath of fresh air in a cultural Christian society that tries to save face and hold back the reality of the brokenness of our experiences. You will not regret this read.
